Many years ago (1960's) the house on that corner was a doctors, Mr Wilson. I used to go their as a child and I can remember him smoking away during the consultation, lol, never happen these days!

I grew up in that house its so sad to see it gone now I have lots of happy memory's. It was my grandparents home my grandfather was the doctor your talking about. Stewart James Wilson, sadly he passed away in 1973 when I was about 5 years old but I remember him well. My grandmother lived there for years after. Yeah its amazing how things have changed but a friend recently told me she went to see a specialist in Christchurch and he was smoking in his rooms. I was shocked to hear that.

Funny the things you remember. I also recall the double/two doors he had between the waiting and consultation room, I expect they gave more privacy, preventing those quietly sitting in the waiting room from hearing the conversations he had with patients. I also remember looking through the textured glass panels to the distorted shapes outside, lol. Addington has changed so much over the years!

Thats nice you have those memory's, I didn't live in Addington but visited and stayed overnights esp after my grandfather died to keep my grandmother company.

Thanks for that I walk passed twice a day. nice to know. They are doing a huge amount of work on the ground before any building starts .
