There were about 5 police cars down Penrith Ave in Somerfield this afternoon.Does anyone know what was happening or how to find out!Is there any website which details incidents!

Why do you need to know!If it's public business,it'll be in the newspaper and on-line news.If your family was involved in something nasty, would you want strangers second-guessing on TM!

Wonder if they the same ones I saw on Southern Motorway about 4.15 ! We had to all slow down ,about 4 police cars were surrounding a 4 wheel drive at side of the road .

There was also a guy 50 mtrs down the road (wigram direction) lying down about 10mtrs off the road. Couldnt see a bike or anything but he a cop and a couple of ladies bent over talking to him.

This was about 2.30 this afternoon.Lots of cars but there didn't seem to be anything obvious such as a car been pulled over or a dog van looking for someone. We've had problems with burgleries in the past so hopefully that wasn't the reason.

Not at all,but spent 15 years working with an emergency service, and take a dim view of nosy firetruck/ambo-followers,in cars or on-line.Some people need to mind their own business!

schnauzer11, May 8, 2012, 5:43 pm

we are not in line watching from our cars though! People naturally are curious about things that involve the community, but yes i do see where you are coming from, with that experience, i have been involved in an accident where a little boy was skipping over my legs, even though i was in pain and bleeding, the ambo staff let him do this.dumb.

Give the dog a bone!

Schnauzer, your angry face and comments were over the top and totally unnecessary.I didn't "need to know" but was curious as it is MY neighbourhood.I turned into the street and drove through them without having a "nosy".I do consider it my business when it may impact on me.As I said, we have had problems with burglaries.I posted on here to see if there was something similar to the Fire Service incident website.

What was your purpose of opening the thread in the first place! Could it be that you too were curious!

> Have you heard any info!

jessie981, May 8, 2012, 9:04 pm

Yes,I was curious,to see if it was 'another one of them'.It was.If it was likely to impact on you,the police would be quick to let you know.Other people in crisis have a right to privacy.

schnauzer11, May 8, 2012, 9:17 pm

It will be a cold day in Hell when I let the police decide what is likely to impact me or not. They are too busy to bother with such things anyway.

bookman2, May 8, 2012, 9:20 pm

wow, seriously! bit different than being a rubber necker.now if were to talk about those. did you ever go driving after a quake and look around a damaged area!

kelsta2, May 8, 2012, 10:28 pm

What is 'another one of them'!And who the hell said anything about people being in crisis!I think you are being a little over dramatic and very judgemental over what was a very benign post.

You are totally deluded if you think the police are quick to let people know if something is likely to impact on them.Three houses directly across the road were broken into and the police never even knocked on the doors of the surrounding neighbours to see if anyone had seen or heard anything.

If you think that people should "mind their own business", then maybe the TM message board is not the place for you.
